Go Zero Eureka
Countdown to Zero Waste
Zero Waste Action Plan
Eureka leading the way to a Zero Waste World!
Directed by Eureka City Council in 2017, Eureka Community Services Department is developing a Zero Waste Action Plan. Zero waste is a shift in waste management from a linear to a circular economy where we can recover all of our resources and send nothing to the landfill.
After pausing the planning process due to COVID-19, city staff has now resumed.
The following sectors will be focused on in sections:
Construction & Demolition: Reported to City Council on May 3rd - Please take the survey
Schools & Internal City Functions: Report to City Council tentatively scheduled on August 16th
Businesses: Report to City Council tentatively scheduled on September 20th
Residential: Report to City Council tentatively scheduled on September 20th
Our goal is to have a draft of the plan complete in Fall 2022.
Eureka’s Countdown to Zero Waste . . . a call to action for our community to work together to eliminate waste, reduce our impact on the environment and commit to get as close as possible to Eureka’s Zero Waste Goal!
